Ambassador of Japan to Qatar HE Satoshi Maeda has praised the close and growing relations between his country and Qatar, describing them as “strong and deep-rooted ties”.
In a statement to Qatar News Agency on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between Qatar and Japan, the ambassador affirmed the keenness of the two countries to promote the bilateral relations to broader horizons for the mutual benefit and interest and their friendly peoples. He said that the relations are now at their best, and that Doha and Tokyo are keen on strengthening them further in various fields.
He noted that each country has mutual contributions in supporting the other’s economy and in the investment and infrastructure sectors, referring in this context to Qatar’s contribution of $100 million after the earthquake that struck parts of Japan in 2011.
He underlined that Japan appreciates this Qatari humanitarian position, which is a strong indication of the strength of the friendly relations between the two countries.
