Foreign Minister meets President of Yemen Presidential Leadership Council

Foreign Minister Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, met today at the UN headquarters in New York, the President of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council, Major-General Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, on the sidelines of the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly.

During the meeting, they highlighted the solid relations between the two countries and discussed way to further enhance cooperation in the interest of both sides.

They stressed the importance of continuing the truce in Yemen and called upon the international community to pressure the Houthis to enter into political negotiations under the supervision of the United Nations to reach a comprehensive political solution to the conflict.

The meeting was attended by the Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the United Nations in New York, Ambassador Jamal Faris Al-Ruwaie, and the delegation accompanying the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
